Meet the Team

George Georges is President of The Georges Company, Inc. in Boston, MA.  He has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Mr. Georges specializes in the acquisition, development, construction and management of multi-family residential housing units in the Boston area.

Mr. Georges received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in New York, NY and a certificate in Construction Methods and Materials, Plan Reading and Estimation from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.

Thomas Karnes has 28 years of experience in the senior living industry in the management and marketing of senior living communities. He has extensive experience in the New England region, having managed 570 independent living and 436 assisted living apartments, and 182 skilled nursing beds in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Relevant Experience

• Managed 6,240 apartments of senior housing in nineteen (19) states:  twenty free-standing assisted living communities (2,010 apartments); twenty communities (2,800 apartments) with a combination of independent living, assisted living, and Alzheimer’s care (472 beds); seven continuing care retirement communities (1,050 apartments) offering a full continuum of care; and 450 skilled nursing beds.
• Responsible for the start up of thirteen (15) senior living communities.
• Holds inactive licenses as a Nursing Home Administrator in Massachusetts,  Delaware, Texas, Florida, and New Hampshire.
• Obtained licensure and/or JCAHO Accreditation for assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities (with short term, sub-acute rehab programs), home care agencies, outpatient clinics, and a transitional program for head injury patients.

Jim McGowan is a partner in the Boston, Mass. office of Novogradac & Company LLP. He has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, with an emphasis in affordable housing. This experience includes accounting; auditing and compliance of projects subject to the regulatory requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and various state agencies, as well as projects developed using low-income housing tax credits.

Mr. McGowan received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. and is licensed in Massachusetts, California, New York and Rhode Island as a certified public accountant.

Bill McGrory is the Executive Director at Robbie’s Place Assisted Living, a community that specializes in providing housing and mental health services to individuals who are over 50 years old. He has over 22 years of clinical and executive management experience in the mental health and housing fields.

Mr. McGrory, also serves as a field placement supervisor for masters degree social work students at Simmons College. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Social Work degree from Boston College. Mr. McGrory is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Association of Assisted Living Facilities (MassALFA).

Josef Rettman has been fully engaged in the construction management / general contracting industry for over 25 years. He has an extensive knowledge & background in all phases of construction from design concept through project turnover. Mr. Rettman has co-owned and managed NEI General Contracting NEI General Contracting since 2003.

Since 2003 NEI has grown from $5 Million in revenue and 7 employees to $200 Million in revenue and 150 employees in 2017. Over the past 25 years, Mr. Rettman has also been involved in multiple property developments and has purchased/renovated and transacted over fifteen (15) properties. Mr. Rettman brings a commanding knowledge of the construction and property development fields of work. Mr. Rettman is also involved several local charities including Jackson Square Recreation Center and TND Connect.

Paul Bouton recently retired from Nixon Peabody LLP where he was the department head for the firm’s Real Estate, Energy and Community Development Department for many years and represented affordable housing developers on all aspects of affordable housing finance and development in the production and preservation of tens of thousands of affordable housing apartment units.

Mr. Bouton has significant experience in structuring and documenting partnership arrangements between developers, owners, investors and others involved in affordable housing development.

Mr. Bouton also has legislative experience, having helped write and implement two Massachusetts state laws relating to affordable housing preservation and development, specifically the Massachusetts state low-income housing tax credit program and the Massachusetts affordable housing preservation law (40T).

As Principal & CEO of Peabody Properties, Inc., Karen Fish-Will draws upon her 30+ years of experience in housing management, affordable housing, real estate sales, leasing and marketing to help lead Peabody Properties in its long-term growth and strategic planning goals.

In addition to her general real estate and housing management experience, Ms. Fish-Will has an impressive track record of closed condominium sales transactions valued in excess of $350M. Currently serving on Mass Housing Community Services Advisory Committee and on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB), GBREB Government Affairs Committee and, New Lease Board Member (initiative that connects units to homeless families as they transition to permanent housing).

Ms. Fish-Will also holds her Broker’s License in Massachusetts and has Associations with Community Associations Institute (CAI) Massachusetts and Florida Chapters, So. Florida National Association of Realtors, Realtor Association of Greater Miami and Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce.
